We recently received a Community Partnership grant from the Cedar Rapids Linn County Solid Waste Agency, which allowed us to purchase a new YSI Professional Plus multi parameter system. This instrument allows us to measure dissolved oxygen, temperature, conductivity, pH, and an additional ion (chloride, nitrate, or ammonium) in the field. With a 10 meter cable, we can measure directly in the stream from our usual bridge side perch. Since a match was required, we will also be picking up a new field turbidimeter. We'll be ready for spring....
