June 14, 2014 marked the first intra-CWQL marriage! Sakinah Haque and Ian Ellickson were married at Backbone State Park - beautiful setting for the ceremony and the reception. Prior to the ceremony, however, we headed down to the beach to discuss E. coli, microcystins, and the general state of water quality in Iowa. (Turns out, swimming wasn't recommended there due to elevated levels of E. coli.)

I still say we could have gone for a swim prior to the ceremony...

Ahem! What's missing here is that Rev. Dr. St. Clair officiated our wedding!! Very beautiful and very appropriate for the person whose lab we met in! :-)
